Grateful Friday

Today I give thanks for...

Waking up this morning and feeling the breeze.  It's the perfect kind of late summer day that hints of fall.

Another week off.  One more staycation.

Today we may go back and hike what we now call snake trail.  I say may because we got a lot of rain in the last 24 hours and that might make for some less than desirable conditions on the river beds.  I suppose we'll decide after Coach makes the kids breakfast.

French toast.

T. Bone has spent the last 48+ hours with his friend.  When the boys begged  asked to have another sleepover last night all I could think was how I wished I had a friend that I wanted to spend THAT much time with so I said yes.

Miss Bit and her friend A. have been spending lots of time together too.  Yesterday they were so eager to play that they skipped breakfast.  Then when A. got picked up to go out for dinner, she called from the restaurant to verify when she would be back to play more.  She just called now as a matter of fact and Miss Bit wanted to go over in her pjs so as not to waste time getting dressed.

Ask and you shall receive.  Miss Bit got 2 pretty polka dotted bean bag chairs for her birthday, and it turns out that 2 is just perfect.

Tigger takes ten.

Fair food even if the lines were so ridiculously long that we didn't get to try some of the things we wanted.  Miss Bit was happy with her corn dog, her ice cream cone and my fried cheese curds.

Two hands on the wheel.  My girl drove her first car...bumper car, that is.  She loved it!

Skull candy and Hubba Bubba.

We had the theater all to ourselves in the middle of the day in the middle of the week so the kids got a little silly which I'm sure has everything to do with the size of the sodas as pictured below.

Hunting in the rain.

Miss Bit was pleasantly surprised that we were not running errands on her birthday, but instead going to the movies with one of her BFFs.  We all liked Dog Days.  Then we went out for a pizza as big as our table, and came home for a little ice cream cake.

More wishes to come true.

This salad this week.  Cherry tomatoes, kalamatas, fresh mozzarella, toasted pine nuts and chopped basil on top of Romaine and topped with my balsamic vinaigrette.

Blooming.

This quote from Virgin Times: But reminiscence is nag deep in its nosebag of memory.  The grass of remembrance is never quite green, having been trod so often.
