two day pass

this weekend was chill.
chill in the air especially early in the mornings and late in the evenings reminding us that fall is fast approaching.
and chill as in a come what may attitude...a go with the flow manner of being that only summer perfectly captures.
there were sleepovers and sleepaways and so many sports.
it felt like when i wasn't reading about tennis, i was playing it.
we hit the courts with our very own teacher and erstwhile tennis phenom, uncle b. bone.
miss bit lapped up his pointers and had such fun despite the fact that it was still very rare for her to hit the ball over the net.
t. bone returned most anything and couldn't be bothered with form or function.
he simply wanted to hit the ball...smash it as hard as possible, or drop it just over the net.
there were games of one on one, a little passing the pigskin around the yard and punting too.
there was pizza delivery, big boy breakfast and steak so yummy seared straight off the grill.
there were cribbage matches, danceathons (don't ask me where miss bit gets her moves) and excited chatter about the week on the lake soon to come.
my batteries recharged this weekend so i'm ready to face the week ahead and eager to soak up the rest of summer.
