Weekending

we survived the first week.
the first week sans ted.
the first week of 10th grade.
dramatic?
perhaps.
but we are all a little blindsided by the end of summer vacation.
we really feel ted's absence.
i'm just beyond grateful for texting and facetime because they do ease the separation.

he's doing well although he did manage to lose his meal plan card and his football ticket.
he found the card and got into the blowout of a game without.
he also went to the shower several times without his towel.
i'm just glad he made it to all of his classes.

this girl has a demanding class schedule and she's playing varsity golf.
she's playing very good varsity golf.

friday came as we knew it would...
as we prayed for it to.
it was a pretty typical friday night, but it definitely felt different.
lily had plans for dinner and a movie with the gals.
mike and i felt a little out of sorts home all alone.
our new reality was finally setting in.
we decided to go out to one of our spots.
it was a good choice.

it was such a beautiful night...
quintessential late summer.
we stopped at a nearby tap room that has a biergarten.
it was a good call. a good vibe.
and when we got home, we sat in the backyard to let the night last a little longer.

the rest of the weekend was very chill at casa wags.
it was a welcome respite in the storm that has been life lately.
