Hazel is 9 Months

Sister, Sis, Sissy, Hazey, Hazey Mae, Crazy Hazey, Lady, Minky, Black Beauty, Girlfriend is 100 percent sweetness and when I think that we almost didn't adopt her, I know what a mistake it would have been. Mike didn't want a female cat. Guess which of the Tres Amigos is his favorite? (I do not have a favorite btw. Really.) Her most notable features are her fur soft as mink, the little patch of white on her chest and her always expressive golden cat eyes. Also her meow. Meows. The girl is effusively expressive. We have full on conversations and we understand each other. Hazel loves wool balls, furry mice and string. She has taken several strings out of hoodies she finds in the laundry. Her favorite ball is red and her favorite string is green. Sis likes color. She's a cat dog. Hazel always comes when called and she plays fetch. Her favorite spot is wherever we are. She is my cuddle buddy. She loves to snuggle when I read and she usually sleeps with us at night. She also wakes me up in the middle of the night for pets. Hazel is petite and gentle and she maintains her manners even while dealing with her two brothers. She rarely finishes her meal and she only drinks out of the faucet. She likes to tuck away in one of Lily's closets when she wants to be alone.

This sweet girl has stolen all of our hearts and I'm so grateful that she's our honey.

Gus is 9 Months

Gustavo, Gusto, Gustarino, Goose, Baby, Tank, Silver Back, Silver Fox, Foxy, Mouse, Jitter Bug, Love Bug is the little brother with the larger than life personality. He's always fearless, often clueless and forever the funniest of the three. He was 8 ounces when we adopted him. As the runt, he's developed food insecurities. The guy is a bottomless pit and he will eat anything. He's usually the first to finish his meal after which he'll move on the his brother and sister's bowls, and they let him. He thinks he's a counter cat and has zero fear of the squirt bottle, his deterrent. It doesn't work too well and he's often drenched because, of course, it's another game. He's helped himself to my lemon water, my coffee and my wine. He tried to eat a raw egg yesterday, licked the peanut butter off a spoon last week and took a taste of bread dough while it proofed on the counter recently. The flour on his nose gave him away. In addition to being insatiable, he's also impossible to tire out. He is the Energizer Bunny going and doing all day and all night. He loves all toys especially the ones you are throwing for his brother or sister. Right now he thinks that bottle caps are cool and he's quite entertained by the Christmas decorations. He's finally stopped taking the lights off the dining room tree and he's only stealing an ornament a day off the big tree. He gets locked in closets all.the.time. We know when we don't see him for a bit that we better go in search of. He's usually just waiting patiently for someone to come to his rescue. He's quiet as a mouse. He doesn't meow often and his purr is even subtle. He is an escape artist. He's bolted into the garage a couple times. He loves all people including repair men and thinks he should shadow them. Gus loves to give nose kisses and love bites. His most notable feature are his eyes that are all pupil and his grey velvety nose and really just his whole compact cutie self.

It is popular opinion that we should clone Gus. I've heard worse ideas.

Finn is 9 Months

Finny, Finnster, Finman, Big Boy, Big Baby, Brother is our resident scaredy cat, a bit of a bully with his brother and sister because he is biggest, and a lover of his people especially Lily. She carries him like a baby the same way she cradled Peanut. No one else can get away with that. His best features are his wily white whiskers, the heart stamped on his nose and his one black leg. We thought that Hazel was our chatterbox, but Finn gives her a run for her money. He's quite a talker too especially when we call either Hazel or Gus. He chirps loud as if to remind us...I'm right here. Don't worry about those other two. He is famous for the Finny Flop. That's when he runs right in front of you and flops down on the floor baring his belly for pets while stretching straight out. He loves chasing the bouncer wand and can get serious air. Hopper is another nickname. He likes to chillax in the tepee, on the top level of the kitty condo, or on Lil's bed. He usually doesn't quite get it that the bed is for sleeping. Every morning, he gets all three of the Kit Kats kicked out of bed because he gets zoomies. Finn loves to burrow in the covers and race around the bed. Don't get me wrong, he's a loving snuggler when he's in the mood. He can be a lap cat for spurts during the day. His is purr rivals the roar of a steam train. He bathes in the bathroom sink with water. He uses his paws like hands and washes up like a good boy. If he wants his brother or sister's spot, he simply lays on top of them. It's one of the benefits of being biggest. Finn is also a goofball. He got himself stuck in my sock drawer one day. I have no idea how he got in there. He likes to explore all the nooks and crannies of the house.

It's been so much fun watching his personality develop. He's sweet, smart and sassy and such a welcome addition to the family.
