Grateful Friday

Today I give thanks for...

A lovely Sunday celebration for mothers and Lil's homecoming. We had such fun putting out a spread of delicious Spanish tapas for the occasion. It was a lot of work executing so many dishes at once, but we made it work, and everyone pitched in. A little of this and a little of that is my favorite way to eat.

A new game, which the four of us played after every one left. We made up our own rules for First to Worst and decided it was a pretty good addition to our game closets.

Old family videos. Ted requested we cue some up Sunday evening and that really tugs at my mama heart. Our wedding video was in the player. The kids don't remember ever seeing it. We just watched the end and saw plenty of Nanny, which felt like a hug or more like a wink especially on this day.

Manny has been at Casa Wags for a week. As far as Hazel and Gus are concerned, he's been here all along. I love his chirp and his peacock tail and the way that he fills Finn's void a little.

Bananas. If your cat doesn't have one, get one. It is always the feline favorite.

Boxes...they are great fun too.

Ted made dinner last night. His signature Tikka Masala is so so good. Lils made her Brussel's for us the other night and no one does sprouts like my girl. How I've missed them. Her.

Last night's stormy weather invited us to hunker down for a movie. Inception was an entertaining choice. Something tells me we have another Christopher Nolan movie on our weekend agenda.

Said storms did not cause any damage in our neighborhood.

Top Chef. We're watching the last season now.

No lower back pain during a walk this week. Sometimes pain really just means time for new shoes.

Spring pfaffing. Some new accent pillows, a couple afghans, a bird bath, and a lamp are perfect refreshes.

Lily starts her summer job on Monday. We did some on-line shopping to put together a work wardrobe. Literally, everything we ordered was a hit and we hit some great sales too.

Feeling ready for a summer of fun.

No plans this weekend. I have plenty of projects on my list so that is all good.
