lily held me to my promises this girl's weekend.
the universe didn't always cooperate, but we made the best of what came our way and that turned into lots of fun.
we had a full day saturday that started with a walk in the misty rain to burn off the prior night's take out.
a walk and a talk.
then jess joined us and we were tourists in our town.
we had purple door ice cream for lunch.
the mint chip was delish.
the spicy chocolate...spicy, and the bitter orange...bitter.
go figure.
go figure.
we stopped in the public market and enjoyed happy hour.
wine or smoothies.
and then went ghost hunting at the pfister hotel.

and then went ghost hunting at the pfister hotel.
we cozied up in the lobby bar beside the fire and i would have been happy to stay there all night if hunger didn't set in.
we tried several places, but ended up scoring the last table at la fuente.
we didn't even mind that it was essentially in the hallway.
we came home and had a kitchen dance party to work off our enchiladas and tacos.
lil's got quite the moves.
she did not appreciate our taste in tunes though.
sunday i met candace for a brisk walk while lily was in sunday school.
the boys returned.
mike had a nice guy's weekend splitting fire wood, watching football and eating lots of meat.
teddy had a great retreat with a perfect balance of prayer, free time and social time.
way too much junk food though.
he requested chicken for dinner.
plain chicken with wild rice and asparagus.
it was good.
and while lily and i enjoyed our girl time, it was good to have the boys home at the end of the weekend.
