two day pass

this was a weekend of communing, conversing and celebrating.
friday with friends and neighbors for a summer soire.
saturday with friends and family for miss bit's very big birthday.
she was a little excited.
i was too since my aunt and uncle graciously hosted and all i had to do was bring decorations and birthday cupcakes.
we went with a gold/yellow/sunflower theme since she turned 7 on the 7th.
it was festive, fun and delicious.
miss bit was beaming opening gift after gift from her most favorite store surrounded by so much love and fashion.
she started modeling her outfits straight away and i felt like i was revisiting the 80's.
after the last guests left, she was treated to a giant bubble bath before bed.
sunday we spent the day at one of her favorite watering holes.
she wanted just the family for a day of fun in the sun.
the lake was refreshing, the day relaxing, and the company a delight.
her birthday dinner of choice was noodles from another favorite spot.
then one of her besties came over to have cupcakes and deliver a gift.
t. bone is in bed with a fever of 103.
i think he has come down with his sister's strep.
he was very disappointed because it is also his friend's birthday and they had plans for a sleepover tonight.
when i tucked miss bit in she was a little weepy already missing all the love and attention from her special weekend.
i tried to reassure her that she's special every weekend...every day as far as i'm concerned.
and then i reminded her that we'll be celebrating her birthday all week.
after all, you only turn 7 once.
