there were bright spots to be had over the crazy, company-filled weekend.
but then aren't there always if we look long enough or maybe not at all?
if we stop straining to see and simply be.
if we live in the moment instead of always trying to create one.
there were cups of coffee and conversation on the patio with my cousin, a yummy brunch with perfectly sweet pineapple and spinach quiche that was so not soggy for the whole family, and a hodge podge, last minute bbq at the end of a hot, harried day enjoyed amongst the hold-outs.
there was a late afternoon hike at the audubon, a competitive round of mini-golf, a couple games of kickball and also a few of our recent favorite, croquet.
there were super soaker wars with our new well-stocked arsenal and an array of icy treats all in an effort to stay cool.
the littles loved the presence of their colorado cousin...he's a legend of sorts in our neck of the woods and they were the 3 amigos for 36 fast, furious hours.
the bigs have much to learn from them about tribe togetherness.
i'm just about recovered from the whirlwind nearly 24 hours later.
